Another significant fact about Siliguri is this that it is among the safest city in India for woman.I was born and brought up in this town .In my 21 years of conscious existence, I have rarely heard of three cases of woman molestation or rape.If you are a solo woman traveler and want to visit hill stations of  Sikkim and North Bengal (Darjeeling,Kurseong,kalimpong,Lava &Lolegaong) just book a flight from New Delhi/your city to Bagdogra Airport(IXB) and you shall find all means to travel to your favorite destination from thereon(without comprising your security).Ofcourse you need to be careful about handing enough money to the taxi drivers.A little bargaining and awareness of the fare will save a lot of your money.Did I mention that Darjeeling is one of the low budget hill stations of India?

Gangtok (4 hrs from Siliguri)

Mirik ( 45 minutes from Siliguri)

Though Darjeeling and Gangtok are the most popular hill stations of this region but there are some beautiful tracts very very close to Siliguri which could be unmatched by any  hill station .As we know that North Bengal and Northeast regions are the least explored natural places of the earth therefore they still remain in their natural form.Obviously, I never dream it to be spoiled by pollution or population but atleast I could make an endeavor to reach those nature lovers who crave to see Nature in its native form.Moreover, the things out here incredibly cheap. Seven momos in just Rs 10.Sorry for the forgetful habit of missing the important points ! Siliguri is among the best and most cost-effective places on earth to consume momos,thupkas,chowmein,and other Chinese dishes.The hawkers of S.F Road and Pradhan Nagar serve the most delicious momos in Siliguri.

Last night, I read an article on Homemaker depression.The symptoms were not clinically experimented but formed out of acute observation. The slogan , 'My wife pesters me' becomes a regular subject of tiffin hours among husbands .There is a fiasco in the relation and it ends in an unhappy state of mind.Men become cankerous and women silent  after insatiable arguments.No one can achieve ultimate happiness but at least harmony was possible.In this scenario, nobody is ready to listen each other therefore harmony is a far cry.

It certainly possible to escape a life of frustration by following few principles in life-

1. Be honest to yourself.
2. Introspect your ideologies.Are they worth following?
3. Replace them with logical perspectives.
4. Seek for things that make you happy.There are thousands of profession which can be followed in the era of 21st century.One shouldn't shy away from their dreams.They will impart you solace and a better state of mind.
5. Open about dreams to your partner.It doesn't matter if they discourage or scorn it.You should have a stronghold on them.They are your dreams !

Bengali, Marwari, Bihari,Nepalese and Muslim  are majority communities which thrive Siliguri .The best part of Siliguri is that all festivals are celebrated with same enthusiasm.There is a harmony among the people which is very contagious.Nobody ever forgets the serenity of this place.

Entrance To Targhera Forest

It takes an hour to reach this place from Sevoke Road of Siliguri.No taxis or buses ply this route.Hence the only means to reach this place is through private two-wheelers or four wheelers.The route from Eastern Bypass is the shortest route.This place comes into picture after you cross famous landmarks like Fulbari Teesta Barrage and Teesta Damn.Both the preceding sites please the heart with its stupefying beauty !

The untrodden paths of North Bengal and NorthEast are secured by the Nature for some higher purpose.For me it's place where I find solace.Forget all preoccupations of life.

When you enter the forest track, a beautiful river comes to sight.

Crystal Clear Water of the Stream

Clean that you can distinctly see the pebbles under the water.I don't know it's name but it is certainly a baby stream of Teesta River, originating from Sikkim, which will join a canal to loose it's liveliness.But for now it's alive and happy.Unknown to it's close fate.

Targhera Forest Range is scarcely known to people therefore the place is hardly crowded by visitors.

The best part of this forest is fern decorated ground.I'm fascinated about ferns.They make me feel very glad from within.

One fine day you can pack a picnic bag and spend a comforting day beside this peaceful river.
